MEET MICHAEL HASTY

Michael Hasty is a husband and a proud father first and foremost—a man of faith who believes family is the foundation of a strong community. A long-time resident of the great city of Springfield, Michael has laid down roots here, chosen to raise his family here, and is deeply invested in the community he proudly calls home.

As a U.S. Army veteran, local Realtor®, and active substitute teacher, Michael’s life has been shaped by service to others. Whether in the classroom, the community, or the marketplace, he believes leadership starts by showing up, listening, and putting people first. Michael holds an MBA in Finance and Supply Chain Management and understands what it takes to manage a budget responsibly—not just in theory, but in real life. As a small business owner and a father leading a family of six, he knows firsthand how important smart financial decisions are. That experience drives his commitment to ensuring Missouri’s tax dollars work for working families—not special interests.

Michael sees education as one of the most important investments we can make in our future. As a dad who also works in the classroom part-time he believes our children deserve the tools and opportunities to succeed—not only in school, but long after graduation, whatever path they choose.

Rooted in service, Michael proudly stands shoulder-to-shoulder with those who protect and serve our communities—our veterans, law enforcement officers, first responders, and educators. He is committed to fiscal responsibility and to being a strong, steady voice for the working-class families who are the backbone of Missouri.

COMMON-SENSE PRIORRITIES

-Jobs and Economy
I believe small, local businesses are the backbone of Missouri’s economy.
As a small business owner myself, I understand firsthand the challenges local entrepreneurs face and the vital role they play in creating jobs, strengthening communities, and keeping dollars circulating locally.

My focus is on making Missouri the best place in the nation to start, grow, and keep a business—by supporting local ownership, cutting unnecessary red tape, and ensuring hardworking business owners have the opportunity to thrive. When small businesses succeed, our communities grow stronger, our workforce grows more resilient, and Missouri’s economy stays strong for the future.

-Public Safety

As someone who understands service, I stand firmly with the men and women who protect our communities—from law enforcement officers to first responders. They deserve the training, equipment, and backing needed to do their jobs safely and effectively. If we want to confront rising crime, keep our neighborhoods safe, and make our cities places where families and businesses want to put down roots, we have to support those on the front lines. Strong communities are built on safe streets, and safe streets start with supporting public safety.

-Education

Missouri’s future starts with the next generation—and that means great teachers in every classroom. To attract and keep strong educators, we must make smart, targeted investments that truly support teachers and students. Strong students come from strong minds, and strong minds are properly fueled. The quality of education our children receive is directly tied to the quality of food we put in front of them. By reducing highly processed foods and bringing more nutritious, locally sourced options into our schools, we improve focus, learning, and long-term outcomes—securing Missouri’s future for generations to come.

-Adoption

As someone who grew up in the foster care system, I know firsthand how much a stable, loving home can change the course of a child’s life. Children who have safety, structure, and people who show up for them have a far better chance of growing into successful, productive members of society—and every child deserves that opportunity. I am committed to cutting through unnecessary bureaucracy and barriers in Missouri’s foster care and adoption system so more children can move from waiting lists into safe, permanent homes. By helping children find long-term or adoptive families, we preserve families, strengthen family values, and build stronger communities. At the foundation of any healthy society is a strong family—and we owe it to our kids to get this right.
